Fulham manager Marco Silva has confirmed that the team will be bringing in a new forward before the transfer window closes. This decision comes after the departure of Willian and Bobby De Cordova-Reid, leaving a gap in the attacking lineup that needs to be filled.
Silva expressed his determination to reinforce the team by stating, “We are going to sign a forward player, for sure. You all know that we have lost two wingers and we haven’t signed any players for that position. We are going to sign a forward player.”
In addition to this forward signing, Fulham has been finalising the acquisition of defender Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace. The Danish centre-back, who spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Fulham from Lyon, made a significant impact during his time at the club. Despite the relegation preventing a permanent deal, he has now made 111 appearances for Palace and will be a valuable addition to the Fulham squad.
Fulham has also recently welcomed centre-back Jorge Cuenca from Villarreal, aiming to strengthen the defensive line after the departures of Tosin Adarabioyo and Tim Ream. Silva expressed his confidence in Cuenca’s abilities, stating, “I think he’s a great signing and a player who is loved by this club. I am 100% sure he is going to bring something important for us. He is going to be a good tool for us this season and in the seasons ahead.”
With these new signings and reinforcements, Fulham is gearing up for a competitive season ahead. The addition of a new forward will provide the team with the attacking edge needed to succeed in the upcoming matches. Fans can expect an exciting lineup as Fulham prepares to showcase its strengthened squad in the games to come.
