LITTLE Ealing Primary School in Weymouth Avenue has been chosen to represent the UK in the NFL Flag International Championships at the Pro Bowl next year. This exciting opportunity comes after their second victory at the NFL Flag National Championship at Loughborough.

A total of 260 children from 28 schools participated in the UK NFL Flag Calendar event, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship on the field. The competition has seen significant growth, with 343 schools getting involved at the local level, marking a 78% increase from the previous year.

Little Ealing emerged victorious in the Primary School (Under 11s) championship, securing a 26-12 win over Houghton Primary School from Cambridgeshire. This win has earned them the chance to travel to the US in 2025 to compete against the best youth flag teams from around the world.

Flag football, which is a non-contact version of American Football, is played by both boys and girls, promoting inclusivity and teamwork among young athletes. Henry Hodgson, the NFL UK & Ireland general manager, expressed his excitement about the growing popularity of NFL Flag in the UK, with 60,000 young people from over 650 schools currently participating.
