Western Digital has recently unveiled its latest product offerings in India, including the WD My Passport portable hard disk drives (HDDs) line and SanDisk G-Drive ArmorATD in 6TB capacities. These new products are the first 2.5-inch portable HDDs in the market to offer a massive 6TB capacity.

The WD My Passport hard drive lineup comes with advanced features such as password protection with 256-bit AES hardware encryption, ensuring the security of your data. On the other hand, the SanDisk G-Drive ArmorATD drive boasts an IP54-rated dust and water resistance build, making it durable and reliable for various environments.

In terms of pricing, the 6TB WD My Passport is available for Rs. 15,499 in India, while the 6TB WD My Passport with USB Type-C is priced at Rs. 15,999. Additionally, the WD Elements 6TB can be purchased for Rs. 15,299. These products are currently up for sale through Western Digital retailers and the Western Digital Store.

For those interested in the 6TB SanDisk G-Drive ArmorATD, it comes with a price tag of Rs. 20,999 and will be available for purchase by the end of July through select Western Digital retailers and the brand’s online store.

When it comes to specifications, the 6TB WD My Passport offers a USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 interface, while the USB Type-C variant comes with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface. Both models feature a three-year limited warranty and include in-house software for added security with password protection and 256-bit AES encryption. They also come with Acronis True Image for Western Digital software for easy backup and protection against ransomware, boasting a transfer rate of up to 5Gb/s.

On the other hand, the 6TB SanDisk G-Drive ArmorATD is designed with a rugged build, IP54 rain and dust resistance, and crush resistance up to 1000lbs. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Thunderbolt 3 interfaces, as well as a transfer rate of up to 5Gb/s through a USB Type-C connector. Like the WD My Passport models, it also comes with a three-year limited warranty.

All the new models are compatible with devices running on macOS 11+ and Windows 10 and above, offering a seamless experience for users across different operating systems. With these new offerings, Western Digital aims to provide robust and tailored storage solutions for consumers in India and beyond.
