Detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward regarding a series of mobile phone thefts in the Ealing Common and Acton areas. The incidents occurred on Tuesday, July 30 and Wednesday, August 14, where a man used a distraction technique to steal mobile phones.

In both cases, the suspect approached the victims under the guise of engaging them in conversation and asking for donations. The suspect has a distinctive mark on his inner left lower leg, which detectives are hoping will help in identifying him.

Detective Sergeant Richard Kidd expressed the importance of identifying and speaking to this man to prevent any further offences from being committed. The incidents have been almost identical in method, indicating a pattern of behaviour that needs to be stopped.

If you have any information or recognise the man in the images released by the police, please contact 101 or reach out to X @MetCC quoting reference number 5610/16AUG. You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to provide information anonymously.
