This weekend, passengers using the Tube and London Overground will face significant disruptions due to closures and service changes. The Piccadilly line will be closed north of King’s Cross starting from Friday night until Monday morning, with no services between the station and Cockfosters. Rail replacement buses will be available between Cockfosters and Finchley Central, as well as between Arnos Grove and Finsbury Park. Additionally, there will be no Night Tube service north of King’s Cross on Friday and Saturday nights.
Passengers heading to or from Stansted airport will also be affected, as trains will only stop at Seven Sisters on Saturday and will not serve Tottenham Hale until Sunday. The Bakerloo line will be closed north of Queen’s Park from Saturday until the following Thursday, with no services between the station and Harrow & Wealdstone.
The London Overground line, known as the Lioness line, will also be closed between Euston and Watford Junction from Saturday to Thursday. TfL recommends using buses to connect with the Jubilee or Metropolitan lines, or using London Northwestern Railway services for travel to central London.
In addition to these closures, the Overground’s Weaver line between Hackney Downs and Chingford via Walthamstow Central will continue to be closed until Sunday due to Network Rail bridge replacement works. Rail replacement buses will run every 20 minutes, with revised services operating between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt.
Furthermore, there will be no Overground service between Barking and Barking Riverside on Sunday. Reduced service on the DLR between Stratford and Lewisham, as well as between Beckton and Canning Town, is also expected due to depot expansion works in preparation for the new DLR trains later this year.
On the Northern line, passengers should be aware that Kentish Town and Colindale stations are expected to remain closed until the end of 2024 due to rebuilding work. These closures will impact commuters using these stations for their daily travel.
Overall, passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, allow for extra travel time, and consider alternative routes during this period of disruptions and closures on the Tube and London Overground lines. Stay informed and check for updates from TfL to minimize inconvenience while traveling.
