Team GB athletes have returned to London after a successful Paris Olympics, receiving a warm welcome at St Pancras station. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, was among those waiting to greet them. The athletes, including gold medalist Alex Yee, have a tight schedule with another race coming up soon. Despite the busy schedule, Yee mentioned wanting to enjoy the moment and perhaps play some golf.

The closing ceremony in Paris saw Team GB athletes cheering and waving Union flags as they entered the Stade de France in Hawaiian-style shirts representing all nations in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Gold medalists Alex Yee and Bryony Page led the team as flagbearers. The event also featured Tom Cruise and musical performances by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre.

Team GB had a successful run in Paris, securing 65 medals, the second-best tally on foreign soil. Although the number of gold medals was lower compared to previous Olympics, traditional sports like athletics, cycling, and swimming, along with newer sports like skateboarding and sport climbing, contributed to the overall success. Despite finishing in seventh place in the medal table, Team GB received messages of congratulations from the King, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Prime Minister, and various celebrities.

Looking ahead, the focus now shifts to the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris starting on August 28. Team GB is already preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Games by securing Stanford University as its exclusive training camp. The achievements of Team GB athletes not only bring home medals but also inspire a new generation of athletes, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship and determination that defines the Olympic Games.
