The RSPCA charity shop at Crescent Parade, Long Lane, Hillingdon, has reopened today after undergoing renovations. This shop has been a staple in the Hillingdon community for over 15 years, offering a wide range of items such as clothing, homeware, furniture, and gifts.
The funds raised from the shop go towards supporting various activities of the Hillingdon, Slough, Windsor, Kingston and District branch of the RSPCA. This includes the RSPCA Hillingdon Veterinary Clinic, which provides care for 4,000 animals annually, as well as the Homing Centre at Denham, which rehomes around 400 animals each year, with over 80 animals currently under their care.
Previously, the Hillingdon premises were owned by a pet shop that had closed down. Trustees Irene Hansford and Chris Letherby initially operated the charity shop as volunteers for three years before hiring permanent staff to manage the shop.
The reopening event was graced by the presence of Uxbridge & South Ruislip MP Danny Beales, showing support for the charity shop and its cause. Additionally, the branch also operates another charity shop in Denham Green, located near Denham Station. Both shops are currently seeking volunteers to assist with their operations.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can request an application form by emailing volunteers@rspcahillingdonclinic.org.uk. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of animals cared for by the RSPCA in Hillingdon and surrounding areas.
