Why the Jacksonville Jaguars play in London so often

London has become a regular stop for the Jacksonville Jaguars because the team agreed to play home games in the UK as part of a multi-year deal signed in 2013. The arrangement was made by owner Shad Khan shortly after he took over the franchise, and has since been renewed twice.

The Jaguars are playing two games in London in 2026. They beat the Philadelphia Eagles 19-17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their first fixture, and are scheduled to face the Houston Texans on 18 October. The team has played more international games than any other NFL franchise.

Why does the team keep coming back?

The deal gives the Jaguars a recurring presence in London as the NFL expands internationally. The team has played at least one London game each season since the series began in 2013, and has also played two games in London in 2023 and 2024, and again this year.

Those trips have brought the Jaguars games at Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In 2023, they beat the Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills in London; in 2024, they lost to the Chicago Bears before beating the New England Patriots. The team’s London schedule has therefore included both wins and defeats, rather than a run of guaranteed home victories.

Are the Jaguars moving to London?

No. The Jaguars are not moving permanently to London. They are renovating their home stadium in Jacksonville in a project valued at roughly $1.5 billion. The renovation is expected to keep the team in Jacksonville for another generation.

The stadium work may affect how many overseas games the Jaguars play. With several home games due to be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando while construction continues, the team has the option of playing three games overseas next season. That possibility has not been confirmed.
