A man, Ioan Pintaru, 32, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article after an 11-year-old girl was stabbed in Leicester Square. The incident took place on Monday morning, and the man was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court.
The Metropolitan police were called to the scene at 11.34am following reports of the stabbing. The young girl was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but fortunately, they are not life-threatening. Initially, it was believed that the girl’s 34-year-old mother had also been injured, but it was later clarified that the blood on her was from her daughter’s injuries.
