In April of this year, a man entered a post office in Brabazon Road, Hounslow, threatening the shopkeeper with a gun and demanding cash. The suspect forced a staff member into the safe room and managed to steal £136,774.44 before fleeing the scene. Witnesses reported that he also removed the CCTV hard drive before making his escape.
Following an extensive investigation, the police have uncovered evidence suggesting that this armed robbery may be part of a larger conspiracy involving multiple individuals. On Friday, August 30, warrants were executed at various locations in London, Surrey, and Hampshire, resulting in the arrest of four suspects.
Two men, aged 38 and 65, along with two women, aged 39 and 44, were taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy to steal, conspiracy to possess criminal property, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. The 65-year-old man was released on bail, while the other three individuals have been charged with the aforementioned offences and are currently remanded in custody. They are scheduled to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday, September 27.
It is worth noting that a man had previously been charged in connection with this incident. Detective Inspector Ari Yoganathan, who is leading the investigation, emphasised the importance of community support in combating firearms-related crimes and expressed the police’s commitment to reducing criminal activities that threaten the safety of residents, businesses, and staff.
