London Bus Routes Prepare for August Bank Holiday Weekend
As the August bank holiday weekend approaches, Transport for London (TfL) has announced changes to 17 bus routes across the city. These changes are part of TfL’s goal to have 80 per cent of journeys made by foot, bike, or public transport by 2041.
Currently, London has a fleet of approximately 9,300 buses running on 675 different routes. The upcoming timetable adjustments aim to match demand, provide value for money, and allow for investments in outer London.
Starting from Saturday, August 24, the following bus routes will see timetable changes:
– Route 5: Minor timing adjustments with an increased frequency of every 8 minutes from the first bus.
– Route 15: Minor timing changes throughout the week.
– Route 50: Daytime service will run every 12 minutes, while evening and Sunday service will increase to every 15 minutes.
– Route 115: Frequency from the first bus will be every 8 minutes.
– Route 130: Minor timing adjustments.
– Route 177: Revised journey times to reflect current traffic conditions.
– Route 194: Minor timing changes.
– Route 250: Minor timing adjustments with increased frequency during early mornings and evenings.
– Route 255: Daytime service every 12 minutes, with evening and Sunday service every 15 minutes.
– Route 320: Minor timing changes.
– Route 323: Temporary timetable with increased frequency during the daytime and evenings.
– Route 410: Minor timing adjustments.
– Route 433: Revised journey times to match current traffic conditions.
– Route N15: Minor timing changes for night service.
– Route N250: Minor timing adjustments for night service.
– Route R68: Return to running every 15 minutes during the daytime and every 20 minutes in the evening.
– Route R70: Return to running every 10 minutes on weekdays, every 15 minutes on Sundays, and every 20 minutes in the evening.
These changes aim to improve efficiency and meet the needs of passengers during the busy bank holiday weekend. Commuters are advised to check the updated timetables to ensure smooth travel across London.
