Living Next to Matthew Perry’s Neighbor, the ‘Ketamine Queen’: Insights on the Actor’s Tragic Passing

Neighbours of Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” who is facing multiple charges over the death of actor Matthew Perry, have shared their experiences living next to her. Sangha, 41, is alleged to have supplied ketamine that led to Perry’s passing in October 2023 at the age of 54. Along with Sangha, four others have been charged with drug-related offenses in connection to Perry’s death – a medical doctor known as “Dr. P,” Perry’s live-in personal assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, Eric Fleming, an acquaintance of Perry, and another doctor, Mark Chavez.

Neighbours living in the same building as Sangha described the environment as one filled with loud parties and frequent visitors to the flat where she resided. People were seen “coming and going,” and on occasion, Sangha hosted “loud parties,” according to witnesses. One neighbour, Jamie Duke, recalled an incident where he heard Sangha’s door being “busted open,” causing a commotion in the hallway. He also mentioned seeing individuals carrying briefcases and instrument cases, assuming they were musicians. The atmosphere described by residents was characterized as “bizarre” and “surreal” by Duke, who expressed surprise and fear at being in such proximity to illicit activities.

Insights on the ‘Ketamine Queen’
Federal prosecutors have revealed that Sangha had been involved in selling ketamine and other drugs for an extended period. It was reported that she began providing Perry with ketamine through Eric Fleming, who then passed it on to Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. Perry, who had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression, was said to have developed a dependence on the substance. In the days leading up to his death, Iwamasa allegedly administered “at least six shots” of ketamine to Perry daily, indicating an uncontrolled reliance on the drug.

Following Perry’s passing, federal agents and detectives conducted a search of Sangha’s residence, uncovering a significant amount of illegal substances. Approximately 79 vials of ketamine and around 1.3kg of orange pills containing methamphetamine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and cocaine were seized. Sangha was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including conspiracy to distribute ketamine, maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute ketamine, and distribution of ketamine. Despite pleading not guilty, Sangha was denied bail due to previous drug-related charges and attempts to tamper with evidence.

Others Charged in Connection to Perry’s Death
Dr. Salvador Plasencia, also known as “Dr. P,” has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine. Allegedly, he sourced ketamine for Perry and provided instructions to Perry’s assistant on how to administer it. A text message sent by Dr. P regarding Perry’s drug purchases raised suspicions about his involvement in the illegal activities.

Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s live-in assistant, has admitted guilt to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death. He confessed to administering ketamine to Perry without proper medical training, including on the day of his demise. Eric Fleming, an acquaintance of Perry, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of ketamine resulting in death. Fleming acknowledged providing the lethal dose of ketamine to Iwamasa, leading to Perry’s tragic passing.

Dr. Mark Chavez, a San Diego physician, has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine. In his plea agreement, Chavez admitted to selling ketamine to “Dr. P” and obtaining it through fraudulent means, highlighting the extensive network involved in the distribution of illegal substances.

The interconnected web of individuals charged in connection to Perry’s death sheds light on the prevalence of drug-related crimes and the devastating consequences they can have. The tragic passing of a beloved actor serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking. As the legal proceedings unfold, the hope is that justice will be served, and accountability will be upheld for those responsible for Perry’s untimely demise.
