No Rest for the Wicked, the action RPG from Moon Studios, has just received a major update after slowing down on updates for a while. The Crucible update focuses on the endgame activity, introducing new content and making significant adjustments to mechanics.

The update triples the number of randomised chambers in the Crucible, changes the overall look of the mode, and adds the Echoes system. Echoes allow players to customize their runs by choosing buffs, debuffs, and modifiers to tailor their gameplay experience. This adds variety to the mode and can be activated using Traces, a new currency dropped by enemies.

A new Crucible vendor, the Seneschal, has been introduced where players can spend Gloamseed, purchase resources, and upgrade weapons. The Seneschal will also unlock features within the Crucible in future updates. Additionally, a new enemy faction called The Gloam has been added, expanding the gameplay experience.

Combat in the game has been revamped with new visual effects that enhance the impact of each blow. Players can now freeze and shatter enemies, tear through them, and rip them to shreds using different weapons. The update also includes extended regions with new areas to explore and even introduces stray animals that players can interact with.

With performance updates, No Rest for the Wicked is now Steam Deck Verified, ensuring a smooth gaming experience for players. Moon Studios has hinted at a detailed Early Access roadmap coming soon, with the first major update expected to add co-op gameplay. Stay tuned for more updates on the game’s development and upcoming features.
