Sea of Thieves Season 13 is your opportunity to take on the role of a villain and participate in the World Event by gaining control of the Burning Blade, Captain Flameheart’s flagship. This powerful ship is the largest in Sea of Thieves, boasting impressive features such as being fireproof and equipped with ten cannons. If you’re interested in acquiring the Burning Blade, here’s how you can do it.
The Burning Blade functions as a Sea of Thieves World Event, appearing as a random encounter in the game. You can check your map table to see if the Burning Blade is active on your server. It will be marked by a large red ship icon on the map. Keep an eye out for thin red swirls in the sky to locate the Burning Blade as well.
When you encounter the Burning Blade, you’ll need to engage in naval combat to defeat it. Be cautious of its flamethrower attacks and focus on using your cannons effectively. Once the Burning Blade is defeated, you’ll have the option to sink the ship and obtain the Blade of Souls or board the ship and pledge your allegiance to Captain Flameheart.
If you choose to pledge to Captain Flameheart, you’ll need to vote at the captain’s table inside the ship. This decision will make the Burning Blade your ship, and you’ll have an Obsidian skeleton crew to assist you. Your goal will be to complete Rituals with the Orb of Secrets at Skeleton Camps to increase the ship’s value and earn rewards. Remember that the Burning Blade must be nearby during the Rituals to absorb their powers.
On the other hand, if you decide to sink the Burning Blade, you’ll receive the Blade of Souls, a valuable weapon with fire properties. The more Rituals you complete with the Burning Blade, the greater the rewards you’ll receive. Keep in mind that once the Burning Blade is sunk during the World Event, it cannot be recovered.
Whether you choose to pledge to Captain Flameheart or oppose him by sinking the Burning Blade, there are risks and rewards associated with each decision. Your actions will determine the outcome of the World Event in Sea of Thieves. So, weigh your options carefully and set sail for adventure on the high seas!
