In a recent report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Hillingdon has been rated as ‘Good’ for its adult social care services. Inspectors commended the borough for meeting its responsibilities in ensuring people have access to necessary care and support. The CQC assessed nine areas spread across four themes, rating each out of four, with a score of four indicating an exceptional standard. Hillingdon scored three in eight areas and two in the remaining one.

James Bullion, the CQC’s chief inspector of adult social care and integrated care, praised Hillingdon for its commitment to helping individuals live well and lead healthier, more independent lives. He highlighted the prompt completion of assessments, with the majority of people not having to wait for their Care Act Assessment and reviews being conducted on time. The borough’s occupational therapy assessments for equipment and adaptations were also efficiently handled, with 90% booked within two weeks, and urgent cases prioritised even faster.
