Half of Brits to Leave Mince Pies for Santa

A staggering 26.9 million mince pies are set to be left out for Santa on Christmas Eve, as half of Brits plan to treat Father Christmas to a sweet snack this festive season. But it seems that Santa might need to watch his alcohol consumption, as 75,000 households are also planning to leave out some booze for him.

Generosity in Numbers

Out of the 28.4 million households across the UK, half are expected to leave mince pies out for Santa. The study, conducted by Iceland Foods, reveals that 19% of households will leave out a single mince pie, 19% will leave out two, and 11% will go all out by leaving three or more sweet treats for Santa.

Interestingly, some households are taking it a step further to ensure Santa has enough energy to power through his Christmas deliveries. 2% of households are planning to leave out a ready meal or pizza for him, while 10% will be satisfying his sweet tooth with biscuits, chocolates, and sweets.

The Perfect Pairing

To wash down the mince pies, 2.3 million households will be leaving out a glass of milk for Santa. Additionally, 75,000 households are planning to leave out a sherry tipple for the jolly old man in red.

This overwhelming generosity towards Santa comes as Iceland Foods proudly announced that their mince pies received the coveted seal of approval from Father Christmas himself. After rigorous testing by over 30 Santas, Iceland’s mince pies were the only ones to pass the test and gain Santa’s approval this year.

Christmas Magic Unveiled

Richard Walker, Executive Chairman of Iceland Foods, expressed his delight at this recognition, stating, “We’re absolutely delighted that our mince pies are the only ones to be given Santa’s approval this year – it’s truly momentous.”

The testing criteria included categories such as pastry perfection, taste, filling ratio, moisture, and overall ‘Christmas magic’. Iceland’s range of Christmas desserts also received the official seal of approval, ensuring that Santa will be well-fed and happy during his Christmas Eve journey.

So, as you prepare for the festive season, why not consider leaving out some mince pies from Iceland Foods to make sure Santa’s belly is full and his heart is happy on Christmas Eve? After all, who wouldn’t want to be on the nice list with Santa himself?
