Four individuals have been found guilty of playing a part in the tragic murder of a father who was known to have faced challenges in life.
Mahdi Mumin, Khalfani Sinclair, Phillip Jones, and Christian Braimah have all been convicted following a trial at the Old Bailey. Mumin and Sinclair were both found guilty of murder by unanimous verdicts, while Jones was convicted of murder by a majority decision. The four men have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on November 28.
The incident that led to the death of Naython Muir, a 43-year-old father from Hounslow, occurred in October 2023 when police and ambulance services responded to reports of a stabbing on Parkside Road, Hounslow. Despite the efforts to save him, Muir succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who oversaw the investigation, described Muir as a loving father, son, and brother who had faced his own struggles in life. He revealed that Muir had been manipulated by a drug line to further their control over drug supply in the Hounslow area.
The fatal attack on Muir was described as sudden, unprovoked, and brutal, involving the use of a Zombie-type knife. The trial presented harrowing evidence of the events leading up to Muir’s murder, with his family in attendance throughout.
DCI Howie commended Muir’s family for their resilience and unity during the trial, stating that they continue to receive support from his team.
The tragic outcome of this case serves as a reminder of the devastating impact of violence and the importance of seeking justice for victims and their loved ones. The sentencing of the four individuals involved will bring a sense of closure to the family of Naython Muir, who continue to mourn his loss.
