The popular Grimdark hack-and-slasher game, No Rest For The Wicked, has recently received a major update that focuses on expanding the Endgame Roguelite mode known as the Crucible. This update introduces new features such as Echoes, which allow players to customize each run with various buffs and effects, creating a unique experience every time.
In addition to the Echoes system, the update also includes a significant increase in the number of randomised chambers in the Crucible, a new art theme, a new vendor, and a new enemy faction called the Gloam. These enemies are described as glowing with corrupt bioluminescence and will only be found in the Crucible initially, with plans to add them to the overworld in a future update.
Outside of the Crucible, players can expect to find extensions to the overworld, new gear upgrades, more impactful combat effects, the ability to interact with stray animals by petting them, performance upgrades, and Steam Deck verification. Moon Studios, the developers behind No Rest For The Wicked, have a history of creating visually stunning games like the Ori series, and they are committed to continuing to improve and expand upon No Rest For The Wicked throughout its Early Access period, which could last up to a decade.
Fans of the game can look forward to a more dynamic and customizable endgame experience with the latest update, offering endless possibilities for unique builds and challenging gameplay. With the addition of new enemies, buffs, arenas, and performance upgrades, No Rest For The Wicked continues to evolve and provide players with fresh content to explore and enjoy.
