Adults seeking treatment for eating disorders at Cygnet Hospital in Ealing are now benefitting from top-quality care, as the hospital has recently been awarded accreditation to the Quality Network for Eating Disorders (QED) by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

This accreditation is a result of the hospital meeting 93% of the 200 standards set by the Royal College, which cover various aspects of care such as access, staff training, treatment, and safeguarding. The Sunrise Ward at Cygnet Hospital, a 14-bed service catering to women with eating disorders, has been recognised for its high standards of care.

Hospital manager Olajumoke Adegoke expressed her pride in the hospital’s eating disorders team, stating that they truly deserve to celebrate this achievement. The accreditation, valid for three years, was granted after assessors from QED spoke with patients, carers, and staff to assess the quality of care provided.

The Royal College’s accreditation programme aims to ensure that patients with eating disorders receive the highest standard of care possible, and Cygnet Hospital’s success in meeting the stringent criteria is a testament to their dedication to providing quality treatment.

This recognition is not only a testament to the hospital’s commitment to excellence in eating disorder treatment but also serves as an assurance to patients and their families that they are receiving care of the highest standard. With the support of a compassionate and dedicated team, adults struggling with eating disorders can now access the help they need in a safe and nurturing environment at Cygnet Hospital in Ealing.
