Located on the second floor of Selfridges department store on Oxford Street, the Brasserie of Light is a stunning restaurant that has been recognised as one of the most beautiful dining spots in the UK by OpenTable. With luxurious gold accents and a mesmerising crystal-encrusted horse statue by Damien Hirst, the ambiance of this restaurant is truly exceptional.

I had the opportunity to visit the Brasserie of Light with a friend to sample their new Splash into Summer menu. This special menu offers two courses for £29.95 or three courses for £35.95, along with a selection of summer-themed cocktails to choose from.

We started our dining experience by trying out some of the cocktails on offer. The Poolside Splash, a frozen cocktail featuring casamigos tequila and coconut puree, was a refreshing choice. Additionally, the Gold Medal cocktail, made with vodka, mandarin, kiwi, and citrus juices, stood out with its vibrant citrus flavours.

Moving on to the food menu, we were impressed by the selection of dishes that focused on seasonal ingredients and flavours. We opted for the Bang Bang Chicken Salad to start, which was a delightful mix of crunchy salad, sesame, peanut butter, and chilli sauce with a hint of Asian influence.

For our main course, we chose the vegetarian option – Harissa and Pomegranate Aubergine. This dish was a medley of flavours and textures, featuring red tapenade, wild rice, coconut yogurt, lime, harissa, pistachio, and edamame beans.

To end our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the Coconut and Rum Panna Cotta and the decadent Chocolate Bubbles dessert. The Panna Cotta was a tropical delight with hints of pineapple, lime, mango, and lemon balm, while the Chocolate Bubbles dessert offered a rich combination of dark chocolate, mousse, brownie pieces, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate pearls.

Overall, the Splash into Summer menu at the Brasserie of Light provides a fantastic dining experience at an affordable price point, making it accessible to a wide range of diners with diverse dietary preferences. This special menu will be available until the beginning of September, giving food enthusiasts plenty of time to enjoy a taste of summer at this spectacular Central London restaurant.
