As the UK eagerly awaits Rachel Reeve’s Autumn Budget announcement, the country’s children have shared their thoughts on how they would handle finances, with half of them believing they could do a better job than the Government.
According to a survey conducted by The Entertainer among 1000 children aged five to 11, some interesting insights were revealed. A third of the kids mentioned that they would make ice cream free under their new rules, while 35 percent expressed their desire to build a fun theme park in every town across the country. Additionally, 32 percent of the children stated that they would like video games to be free for life.
In terms of making families better, 31 percent of the kids suggested that each family should get a free pet, and the same number of children proposed giving out giant robots to assist people with their chores. Moreover, more than half of the children (54 percent) want to make the cost of living more affordable for everyone, including reducing the prices of essential items and providing free clothes to those in need.
Education is another key area of concern for the children, with 54 percent expressing their desire to improve schools nationwide and increase the pay for essential workers such as nurses. When it comes to tackling the UK’s housing crisis, half of the kids (52 percent) suggested giving or building everyone a free house.
Even when faced with serious financial issues like the country’s £22 billion deficit, children came up with imaginative solutions. Nearly half (47 percent) proposed asking wealthy individuals to pay off the debt, while 42 percent suggested simply printing more money.
In a more light-hearted suggestion, the children expressed their preference for having their favourite characters featured on banknotes, with Spider-Man (22 percent), Batman (18 percent), and Barbie (18 percent) being the top choices.

Although children may not be managing the UK’s finances at the moment, they can still have a say in how they spend their own money.
