Two young children and a woman were injured by four dogs in south London. The incident took place on Mickleham Road in St Paul’s Cray, Orpington, just before 9am. The victims, a four-year-old, a six-year-old, and a 30-year-old woman, were hospitalized, but their injuries were not life-threatening.

A witness, McArthur Okorocha, saw the attack and stepped in to rescue the children. He managed to separate the dogs from the victims and called emergency services for help. The dogs, all of a Mastiff-type breed, were reported to be out of control.

The Metropolitan Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control. The dogs have been taken into police custody while the investigation is ongoing. Superintendent Mitch Carr assured the public that extra officers will be present in the area to provide reassurance to the community.

This incident follows another dog attack in West Sussex, where a six-year-old girl was bitten by a Japanese Akita dog. The attack occurred in Strand Parade, Durrington, Worthing, and the girl was taken to the hospital for treatment. A 53-year-old woman from Worthing was arrested in connection with the incident.

Dog attacks like these are a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and proper training. It is crucial for dog owners to ensure that their pets are well-behaved and not a danger to others. Authorities will continue to investigate these incidents to prevent similar attacks in the future.

The safety of children and the general public should always be a top priority, and incidents like these serve as a wake-up call to raise awareness about dog safety and responsible ownership. It is essential for communities to come together to promote a safe environment for everyone, especially young children who may be more vulnerable to such attacks. By staying vigilant and taking necessary precautions, we can help prevent tragic incidents like these from happening again.
