A solo exhibition by Hillingdon resident Christine Rodrigues, who studied at the Ealing School of Art, will be showcased at Stockley Park this month. Christine, a mixed-media artist, explores the connections between the natural world, personal faith, and our relationships with them.
Visitors to the Glass Pencil Art Gallery are invited to embark on a captivating journey through the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water through Christine’s artwork. Born in a quaint farmer’s cottage in Gloucestershire, Christine’s upbringing was immersed in the simplicity and beauty of nature.
For Christine, being an artist was not a career choice but an inherent part of who she is. She pursued her passion for art by studying at the Ealing and Chelsea schools of art, focusing on fine art and sculpture. Her goal is for people to not only enjoy the colours and shapes in her work but also to reflect on the deeper meanings behind them.
Having exhibited her art locally and internationally, including solo shows in New Zealand, this marks Christine’s seventh solo exhibition and her first at the Glass Pencil Art Gallery. Her experience at Stockley Park has been transformative, with her own studio space and a supportive community of fellow artists.
Christine describes her time at Stockley Park as both brilliant and baffling, in the best possible way, calling it an unexpected but rewarding chapter in her life. The exhibition titled “Elements: Over and Around Us” promises to offer a unique and thought-provoking artistic experience.
The exhibition will kick off with an opening night on November 28 from 6:30-10pm, where all are welcome to attend. Public viewing will be available from November 29 to December 1, between 11am-5pm daily at the Glass Pencil Art Gallery in Stockley Park.
