The Transport for London (TfL) buses are making changes to their timetables to align with the Mayor’s Transport Strategy, which aims to have 80 percent of journeys made by foot, bike, or public transport by 2041. Currently, there are approximately 9,300 buses operating across 675 different routes in London.
These timetable changes are being implemented to better match demand, provide value for money, and allow TfL to invest in outer London. Starting from today, Saturday, July 27, several routes will see adjustments to their schedules.
Route 117 will no longer stop at bus stop HE in the grounds of West Middlesex Hospital. Instead, buses will drop off at bus stop HD and pick up passengers at bus stop HA at the main hospital entrance. However, Route 481 will continue to serve bus stop HE.
On route 266, a temporary timetable will be introduced to increase the frequency of buses during the morning peak hours on weekdays to every 9 minutes. On Saturdays, buses will run every 9-10 minutes during the day, and on Sundays, they will run every 11-12 minutes. This change is to improve reliability during HS2 works along Victoria Road and Atlas Road.
Route 368 will go back to running every 12 minutes during the day on weekdays and Saturdays, and every 20 minutes in the evenings and all day on Sundays, as the temporary timetable is removed.
For Route 388, two additional journeys will be added at 24:04 and 24:16 from Stratford City Bus Station to London Bridge Bus Station every day of the week.
Route 394 will have a new timetable with revised journey times to better reflect current traffic conditions. Buses will now run every 15 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes in the evenings on all days of the week. Additionally, the first buses on Sundays will depart at the same time as on weekdays and Saturdays, starting at 5:30 am.
Routes EL1, EL2, and EL3 will also see the removal of temporary timetables, with services returning to their regular frequencies during the day and evenings on weekdays and weekends.
