The family of a chef who was attacked near Notting Hill Carnival is devastated by his death. Mussie Imnetu, a 41-year-old chef from Dubai, was found unconscious with a head injury outside the Dr Power restaurant in Queensway. Despite efforts from customers and police officers to help him, Mussie passed away in the hospital on August 30.

Mussie, who had worked with famous chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing, was a well-respected figure in the culinary world. His family, friends, and colleagues from around the world are mourning his loss, and the police are urging anyone with information about the attack to come forward.

Omar Wilson, a 31-year-old from Leytonstone, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent in connection to the attack. He appeared in court and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance in September.

The police are still investigating the incident and are appealing to witnesses who may have seen Mussie on the day of the attack. They are particularly interested in his movements between leaving The Arts Club in Dover Street at 1pm and arriving at the restaurant at 10.30pm.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, emphasised the importance of gathering information about what happened to Mussie. He urged anyone who was at the restaurant or in the area at the time of the attack to come forward with any relevant details.

In an effort to gather more information, officers will be present outside the restaurant and in the surrounding area on Monday, September 2. They will be handing out appeal leaflets and speaking with locals to gather more information about the incident.

If you have any information that could assist the investigation, you are encouraged to contact the police on 101 or reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously. The reference number for this case is 8020/26AUG. Your help could be crucial in bringing justice for Mussie and his grieving family.
