LCD Soundsystem brought their electrifying dancefloor energy to Victoria Park at All Points East, kicking off the second weekend of the festival with a bang.
As the sun shone down on the audience, indie sleaze fans were in for a treat after enduring brutal winds at other festivals. Jockstrap set the tone early on with their experimental pop performance, complete with Georgia Ellery sporting giant monster legs, captivating and amusing the crowd.
The Pixies kept the momentum going with a crowd-pleasing setlist that had fans singing along to classics like Hey, Here Comes Your Man and Where Is My Mind. But it was LCD Soundsystem who truly stole the show with their riotous set under a giant disco ball.
Despite having only released four albums in nearly two decades, LCD Soundsystem’s set was filled with hits that had the crowd on their feet. Someone Great had fans singing along to frontman James Murphy’s poignant lyrics, while I Can Change had everyone moving to the infectious beat.
As the London day festival curfew loomed, LCD Soundsystem powered through their set with a sense of anticipation building for what was to come. The band took a brief intermission before returning for an encore that kicked off with Dance Yrself Clean, sending the crowd into a frenzy of euphoria.
They continued with the anthemic New York I Love You… before closing out the night with All My Friends, with Murphy’s lyrics resonating with the audience as they danced and sang along.
The night ended on a high as LCD Soundsystem wrapped up an incredible performance, leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement and memories of a dancefloor takeover at All Points East.
