West Ham United is set to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United for a fee of around £15 million. Wan-Bissaka, who did not feature in United’s Community Shield match against Manchester City, has agreed to personal terms with West Ham and is expected to complete the move after a medical examination.

The Hammers have been in search of a new right-back after Ben Johnson’s departure to Ipswich Town. While they considered other options like Noussair Mazraoui and Kyle Walker-Peters, Wan-Bissaka emerged as their top choice. The 26-year-old has one year left on his contract with United, and the club has decided to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for free next year.

Wan-Bissaka initially joined Manchester United in 2019 from Crystal Palace in a £50 million deal. However, he has struggled for regular playing time recently, leading to his decision to move to West Ham. The London club has been active in the transfer market this summer, with several new signings including Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, and Niclas Fullkrug.

With the addition of Wan-Bissaka, West Ham’s defense is expected to be significantly strengthened ahead of the new Premier League season. Manager Julen Lopetegui will be looking to build on the club’s recent signings and mount a serious challenge in the upcoming campaign. West Ham’s first match of the season will be against Aston Villa, where they will be hoping to start their campaign on a positive note.
