A new housing development with 34 affordable homes has recently been unveiled in Hayes. The properties range from one to three bedrooms and come with a communal garden area for residents to enjoy.
Construction on this project, led by Hillingdon Council, commenced in 2022 on the grounds of a former day care and care home facility located on Maple Road. After years of disuse, the site has been revitalised to provide much-needed housing for the local community.
Neilcott Construction was responsible for building two blocks of homes on the site, named Balsam Court and Silverleaf Court. These homes have been equipped with solar panels to promote energy efficiency, as well as amenities like cycle storage and a central car park with electric vehicle charging points.
The council has already reached out to eligible residents who qualify for accommodation in this development, and they are expected to start moving in shortly. For council tenants or leaseholders who are interested in staying informed about similar housing opportunities in the future, they can sign up for the borough’s housing quarterly e-newsletter on the official website at www.hillingdon.gov.uk/enews. Simply select ‘Housing News’ as a preferred topic to receive regular updates.
This initiative not only addresses the pressing need for affordable housing in the area but also demonstrates a commitment to sustainability with the incorporation of eco-friendly features like solar panels and electric vehicle charging points. The communal garden space further fosters a sense of community among residents, providing a shared outdoor area for relaxation and socialising.
The opening of these new homes marks a significant step towards meeting the housing demands of the local population while also promoting environmental consciousness and community engagement. As the residents begin to settle into their new homes, the positive impact of this development on the neighbourhood is expected to become increasingly evident.
