Dogs Trust Harefield is currently home to 86 dogs, all hoping to find their forever homes. The charity has received over 2,000 inquiries this year from owners who can no longer care for their dogs. Despite the challenges, Dogs Trust Harefield has managed to rehome over 6,000 dogs across the UK in 2024.

One special dog at the centre is Ares, an eight-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross. Ares has been at Harefield for over two years, patiently waiting for a family to adopt him. He is a bit shy and can get anxious in noisy environments or when meeting new people indoors. However, he loves calm walks and playing with his toys in a secure garden.

Richard Moore, the manager at Harefield, emphasised the importance of finding these dogs loving homes, especially during the holiday season. He mentioned that while the Dogs Trust team will make sure all the dogs are well taken care of during Christmas, nothing beats the love and comfort of a permanent home.

Bringing a dog into your home is a rewarding experience, and Dogs Trust Harefield offers continuous support and guidance to owners even after the adoption process is complete. It’s not just about finding a home for these dogs; it’s about ensuring that they have a happy and fulfilling life with their new families.
