Shropshire Zoo Seeks Public Help to Find Escaped Capybara
A zoo in Shropshire, England, is currently seeking public assistance in locating a capybara that recently escaped from its enclosure. The Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World, located on the outskirts of Telford, has been actively searching for their missing capybara, named Cinnamon, who has not been seen for over two days.
According to a statement released by the family-run zoo on Facebook, Cinnamon managed to escape from her habitat and ventured into the woodlands within the zoo’s premises. Despite efforts by zoo staff to locate her, Cinnamon was last spotted on a nearby road on Saturday evening after crossing the zoo’s perimeter fence.
URGENT: Do Not Approach the Capybara
The zoo has urged the public not to approach Cinnamon if spotted, as the animal may become unpredictable if alarmed or cornered. While capybaras are generally friendly and inquisitive creatures, it is important to exercise caution when encountering them in the wild. The zoo emphasized that Cinnamon has a strong bond with her keepers and can likely be encouraged back to her habitat without the need for physical intervention.
